Since opening in 1991, Fancourt Hotel &
Country Club Estate has established itself as one of South Africa’s
premier Golfing and Leisure Resorts of championship proportions and
immaculately maintained greens. Situated in the “Capital” of the Western
Cape’s Garden Route, George, these Gary Player designed courses are
demanding but fair test, set in beautiful surroundings. Two additional
golf courses have been added to the Estate - The Links, “Host to the
President’s Cup 2003 and Bramble Hill, Fancourt’s “pay and play” course.
The Montagu
The Fancourt Montagu is considered one of the best conditioned golf
courses in South Africa and has been ranked as the top course in the
country a few times. The Montagu takes in a setting of mountains, water
and wildlife. It is cleverly designed, picturesque and presents a
challenge to golfers of all levels.
Unique to South Africa, the course presents undulating windswept terrain
and dune-style landscape. Every hole has received detailed attention to
ensure that there is an overall balance in terms of length, position of
hazards and shot values. As a result, the Links presents a stern test in
all weather conditions. The Links was recently opened to the public, and
was host to the Presidents Cup 2003.

Very similar in design to The Montagu, The Outeniqua took shape under
master golfer Gary Player, offering world class conditioning and a
setting that takes in mountains, water and wildlife. Since golf at these
two courses at Fancourt is limited to members, their guests and resort
guests, you will have ample time and space to savour the Fancourt
golfing experience.
The Gary Player designed course is demanding but fair test set in
beautiful surroundings. The generous kikuyu fairways and fast bent grass
greens give a taste of the type of course, which is popular on the US
tour. This course is a recent addition to Fancourt's championship
courses, offering a "pay and play" facility open to the public.
