After a good breakfast and a brief introductory talk we head in the direction of Dyer Island, around 25 minutes off shore. We usually launch at around 9 a.m.

Once we reach the premium viewing area we drop anchor and lower the cage and make a scent trail. Diving in the cage commences when the sharks show up and the next hours are spent relaxing on board, watching the sharks surface and spending time with them via cage-diving.

No scuba equipment is required as the cage is attached to the boat and floats just below the surface of the water. However, if you have your own equipment and a current Diving Certificate and wish to utilize your scuba equipment you may do so. Some operators feel, however, that the bubbles deter the sharks.

Later, we head closer to Dyer Island (conditions dependant) where we get near enough to view African penguins and a wealth of other marine birds besides.

Across the aptly-named Shark Ally lies Geyser Rock, home to 60,000 Cape Fur Seals. We get to view the thriving colony and in November can enjoy the sight of newly born seal pups. Shark activity here makes for great viewing and photo-ops!

Prices start at R1100.00 per person. This includes an unforgettable shark cage dive experience, breakfast, snacks and drinks and the use of diving and safety equipment, weatherproof jackets and towels.

Transfers to and from Cape Town are available for R250 each in a spacious air-conditioned vehicle.

Please bring with warm clothing, sunblock, sun hat and seasick medication if required.

Please bear in mind that the best sightings are May to September when the chances of seeing sharks are 90% plus. While sharks may be spotted off-season the sightings are varied. If the weather is inclement we may be unable to launch.

Your safety is paramount to us. Passengers are fitted with comfortable inflatable life-jackets. For your peace of mind we have extensive public liability insurance. The cage is made out of a 25 mm galvanized mild steel frame and covered with 10 mm galvanized mild steel security mesh.
